In order to have a clear-cut understanding of the two terms organisation and administration, let us take up a simple example. Organisation is just like setting up a machine. The various parts of the machine are put together by the organiser and thus the machine comes into being. When the machine comes into existence, its proper functioning and operation is administration. One in the absence of another is meaningless.
Organisation is pre-execution stage whereas administration is the execution stage. The two terms are inseperable. They are interdependent. Thus good organisation results into good administration and good administration causes good organisation. In other words we can say that organisation determines the degree of sucess in administration.
Organisation may be poor to begin with. It can be improved upon by the administrator through his administration. Organisation is a part of administration. We cannot have administration without organisatio. Some people say that organisation and administration are synonymous terms. That is absolutely wrong. They are not interchangable terms. Rather they are two different terms.
Organisation is the basis as well as the means to have administration. No organisation is possible without the assistance of administration. Once organisation comes into being, it may not be up to the mark.
It then becomes the basis and sharpens administration to make it really good. Thus organisation leads to good administration and good administration makes organisation worthy to be called really good organisation. Good organisation is the resultant of good administration. Therefore, we are undoubtedly in great need of really effecient administration. Both administration and organisation are in the hands of the management. The management fixes up the goal of education, decides the policy matter, provides finances for organisation and administration and hence helps in achieving the goal fixed up.
